Services

Staffordshire Paediatric Occupational Therapy offers comprehensive assessment, treatment and training packages to parents, schools and other external support agencies. Gaye’s approach is child centred with a focus on family and school support to ensure a supporting, understanding and caring environment is being provided to meet each child’s presenting needs.

Assessment and Treatment:

During the assessment I use various standardised tools to gather important information regarding your child and the difficulties they are facing. Following the assessment an Occupational Therapy report is personally written with advised recommendations for the needs of your child. A treatment plan will be outlined and when required a programme specifically designed to improve, benefit and enhance your child’s independent function in their daily living activities.

A free telephone consultation is offered at the onset of any intervention to discuss your concerns pertaining to the potential need for Occupational Therapy.

School Consultancy:

I offer a consultancy service which can provide

  • Onsite 1:1 assessment of children with particular learning needs, assessment of the school environment and detailed individual reports outlining the impact on learning and any further recommendations for schools to improve a child’s development.
  • Teacher training across many aspects key to child development. The school can choose the topics and length of the training relevant to their needs and I provide detailed presentations and engaging activities to reinforce learning.
  • Advice and recommendations with regards to developing sensory spaces within the school environment to further develop the integration of sensory support within the school curriculum.

If you are interested in discussing the benefits of Occupational Therapy please contact me and I would be more than happy to discuss this in further detail prior to setting up an assessment for your child or coming out to your school.

Costs:

Please contact SPOT for further information as usually fees are agreed according to the specialist assessments and further intervention your child needs. A free telephone consultation is offered at the onset of any intervention to discuss your concerns pertaining to the potential need for Occupational Therapy.
